Do you know PEEK or PEKK?

Do you know PEEK or PEKK?
Do you also want to use the first-class material properties of the high-performance plastics PEEK and PEKK?

Our high-performance coatings are already in use in many different industries.

Biocompatibility, sterilisability, temperature resistance up to 260 °C, FDA and EU approvals, mechanical finishing etc.

Polyaryletherketones (PAEKs) are high-temperature-resistant, thermoplastics with exceptional properties. The high strength of the semi-crystalline aromatic polymers is maintained even at high temperatures. Furthermore, these materials have a very good impact strength at low temperatures, a high mechanical fatigue strength, a very low tendency to creep as well as a good sliding and wear behaviour. Due to their exceptional properties, polyaryletherketones are mainly used in demanding applications.

  • High mechanical strength even at higher temperatures
  • Biocompatibility
  • Very good impact strength
  • Low tendency to creep
  • Good chemical resistance
  • Good sliding and wear properties
  • Low water absorption
  • Good radiation resistance
  • Sterilisability (superheated steam and ETO)

Mechanical finishing, such as turning, milling, grinding etc., is possible without any problems.

PEKK was chosen for a bearing liner for the Mars mission. For the journey to Mars, the University of Bern supported by Buser Oberflächentechnik AG made an essential contribution to this project.

Due to our knowledge and many years of experience, we are able to realise even larger parts with these coatings by means of an electrostatic powder-coating process.
